Hybrid work has changed the way we connect to our colleagues. Gone are the days of weekly Friday hang-outs and serendipitous water cooler run-ins. Today’s teams are flexible and connected, in or out of the office. Team building is still a massive resource for your team, as social cohesion can lower levels of attrition and burnout. When your team feels connected, they are more engaged and will work harder together.
That’s why we’ve curated our favorite team building activities for teams to connect, share, and bond. Check them out below! If you have a new rec to add, send us a note at hello@cultiveit.io.

Diving Deeper into Team Building
Creating a memorable team building experience comes down to a few factors (which overlap quite a bit with High Quality Time-Off!). Research from Stanford University shows that that experiences should 1) create shared meaning, 2) involve sensory inputs, and 3) build pride. Our recommendations here focus in on optimizing for these.
We recommend that remote teams focus on quality vs. quantity of team building. Our research with individual contributors shows that they are tired of virtual events. Instead, save your budget for an annual offsite where your team can get together in-person to build relationships. You can also get creative. Have your team connect to colleagues in the same region that may not necessarily be on your team. Host remote team building experiences whereby your team all completes the same activity at the same time (like a walk or local museum visit) in their own communities. Encourage folks to share pictures after!
We’d love to know your rec! Send us an email to hello@cultiveit.io. Include the name, location, and website.
