Helping managers make work less demanding
Configuring the feedback section
Basic Setup
BurnoutBot monitors your team’s behavior for early warning signs of burnout. Examples include: your directs working more than 9 hours each day for 3 days in a row, or working 15 days in a row with no full days off. If your team exhibits behaviors that may lead to burnout, Burnout Bot will check-in with them and ask about what’s going on at work. They’ll be able to select one of the six areas of work demands and offer qualitative feedback on what’s going on and how to improve the situation.
This is what your team will see:
Once Burnout Bot gets three instances of feedback, we’ll send themes and action items to you as the manager to immediately drive improvements. Our recommendations are quick, research-based tactics that can are relevant to your team’s situation. We’ll also offer additional resources to help you dive deeper, if you’re interested.
Here’s an example of the type of action plan you’ll receive:
You can choose to either keep this action plan private or share with your team.
Maximizing Work Recovery
Configuring the High Quality Time-Off reminders
Basic Setup
High Quality Time-Off is a 5-part framework for maximizing your non working hours to reduce stress and get your cognitive levels back to baseline. We developed this framework at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and it can contribute to a 65% reduction in burnout symptoms. The basic premise is: get emotional, cognitive, and physical distance from work on a period basis. You can learn more about the framework here.
If your team is exhibiting “always on” behaviors that could lead to burnout, we’ll send them reminders to proactively disconnect on a periodic basis. For example, if your direct report hasn’t taken a full day off Slack in two weeks, we’ll send them a reminder to disconnect, and send them examples of High Quality Time-Off activities in their area.
Here’s an example of what your team will see:
